Position Description:
The Monkey Bridge Project (MBP) is looking for a volunteer project manager to oversee daily operations in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica. The volunteer will work approximately 40 hours per week on applied conservation and research aspects of the project such as maintaining wildlife bridges and collecting demographic data on mantled howler monkey study groups.
Qualifications/Experience:
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in biology, anthropology, or another related field. Preference will be given to applicants with Spanish and English communication skills. Field experience in animal behavior and/or ecological methods is also preferable.
Salary/funding:
None.
Support
provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
None. The volunteer is responsible for all living expenses, including room and board, meals, and transportation.
Term of Appointment:
Minimum commitment of six months; dates are flexible.
