Position Description:
Fundación Proyecto Tití is a Colombian non-profit organization, focused on the long-term conservation of cotton-top tamarins (Saguinus oedipus) and their forest home. Cotton-top tamarins are small primates that only exist in the tropical forests of northwest Colombia, critically endangered due to extensive deforestation and capture for the illegal pet trade.
The Assistant Director of the Biological Program is responsable for leading the field operations that focus on the studies of the biology of cotton-top tamarins and forest restoration. Duties include the following:
-Supervise the implementation of activities and personnel at two field sites in Santa Catalina and San Juan Nepomuceno, Bolívar and monitor the impact of our conservation activities. This includes field studies on the behavioral biology, reproductive biology, and feeding ecology of cotton-top tamarins, data management and analysis.
-Supervise the development of the restoration and forest monitoring program in San Juan Nepomuceno in collaboration with local partners.
-Lead the analysis of conservation impact by developing metrics that can be used to measure our success, prepare papers for scientific publication, and represent Proyecto Titi at national and international meetings.
-Collaborate in the design of studies to measure behavior change that positively impacts primate populations and local communities

Ph.D. preferred, or Masters with at least 5 years supervising field teams
Must be bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
Must be willing to work in Barranquilla, Colombia with frequent travel to Proyecto Titi's field sites.
Experience with New World primates field programs
Experience managing field teams, coordinating work plans, and developing high performance teams

Commensurate with experience

Term of Appointment:
