Overview
The Clinical Veterinarian will examine, diagnose and treat laboratory animals at SNBL USA Everett, WA, to ensure the health of animals used in scientific research, comply with regulations governing their humane and ethical treatment, and competently perform all tasks relating to caring for animals in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities
How You'll Contribute:
? Provide routine and/or specialized veterinary medical, dental, imaging, and surgical services for various laboratory animal species such as nonhuman primates (NHPs), rodents, rabbits, and canines on site
? Team oriented approach and professional leadership in the resolution of complex medical cases, expertise in routine husbandry and care of laboratory animal species and continuous efforts toward improvements upon current practices
? Collaborate with study directors in providing sound scientific and medical advice in support of study designs and objectives
? Assist in maintaining compliance with Federal regulations governing the humane care and use of laboratory animals
? Assist in the development, review, revision and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to animal issues
? Assist the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee, with responsibilities including; reviewing protocols, animal colony issues, management issues and consultations
? Ensure preventive health program execution, quarantine programs, review of vendor health records and oversight of colony animal's preventative health/medical care
? Build business experience in laboratory animal science through client interaction
? Collaborate with other staff across departments in maintenance of AAALAC accreditation and ensuring continued compliance with these standards

Qualifications/Experience:

What We Are Looking For:
? Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
? 3+ years experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine, including experience with NHPs, rodents, rabbits and canines
? A State License in Veterinary Medicine is required and must acquire licensure in state of Washington within one year of employment
? Has a current USDA Accreditation to sign health certificate or will be accredited within one year of employment
? Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and the ability to speak effectively with clients and staff
? Preferred experience serving on and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
? Preferred experience working in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment
? Prefer ACLAM board certification or eligibility
