Charity Overview: Wild Futures is a leader in the field of primate welfare and conservation, environmental education and sustainable practice. Our Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall has over 50 years? experience of caring for primates rescued from the pet trade. The Sanctuary is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.

Are you looking to gain first-hand experience with an outstanding animal welfare organisation? Do you have a love for primates and their well-being? Are you looking to make your first step into a career in animal welfare?

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator Assistant to help with the volunteer programme here at Wild Futures. Working alongside the Volunteers and the Volunteer Coordinator you will make sure the day to day running of the programme runs as smooth and efficient as possible.

No formal experience is necessary, as there will be training provided. However, preference will be given to those with an affinity to animals and their well-being.

Main Job responsibilities:

? Daily enclosure cleaning.
? Monkey food preparation.
? Enrichment preparation.
? Organisation of the volunteers.
? Training of volunteers.
? Working through a scheduled job list.
? Working with the volunteer coordinator
to plan and advance the programme.

You would need to be mature, independent, and responsible. Have an enthusiastic personality that can inspire others; even when the work is repetitive or grueling.
Be culturally sensitive - as you will be part of a multinational team.

You will work five full days a week and be flexible about your days off.

Ideally you will have college/ university level understanding of animal sciences, biological sciences, or zoology.

All serious applicants considered.

This is a volunteer position and no salary can be offered. However, for persons that can commit longer to us, as of October there shall be a small stipend for the successful applicant

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Accommodation will be provided in a private room here at the sanctuary.

All meals will be provided.

Ideally we are looking an applicant that can commit to us for a longer period of time and preference for this type of person will be given. We will though consider all time lines for the right person.

DISCLAIMER: We operate a complete hands off policy when it comes to the animals. There shall be no feeding, touching, or ability to be within close proximity of any of the monkeys here.
