Our cardiovascular and metabolic disease (CVMD) department offers non-human primate and rodent based niche research services with scientific expertise in metabolic, cardiovascular and renal diseases. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented individual that is interested in a career of specialized animal research.

The Louisiana CVMD department of Crown Bioscience Inc. is seeking an outstanding Research Associate I to join its operation team. The Research Associate is expected to perform in a cross functional capacity. This full-time position is multifaceted and provides a challenging research environment supporting the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities:
? Non-human primate (and possible rodent) husbandry and daily health observations
? Perform in vivo dosing, venipuncture, and other IACUC approved procedures
? Assist with ultrasonography, radiography, and more advanced surgical procedures
? Assist study directors and study leads in the preparation and execution of independent and client based studies
? Process and organize biological and non-biological samples
? Administer insulin treatment for diabetic non-human primates
? Organize and disinfect procedure and treatment rooms
? Input data and conduct basic data analysis

Qualifications/Experience:
Required Qualificaitons:
? A minimum of 2 years of college (Associates degree) plus at least 2 years of laboratory experience (lab experience preferred but not required). Experience with companion pet, livestock, and/or human health care also accepted.
? Comfortable with handling of conscious and sedated primates and rodents
? Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and careful record-keeping
? Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks during multiple projects
? Basic computer skills will be required (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
? Ability to lift ~40lbs and stand for several hours
? Must pass full extremist/activist and felony background check
? Must sign non disclosure agreement and receive blood borne pathogen/zoonotic diseases training within first 90 days of hire
? Must have two rounds off MMR vaccine, test negative for tuberculosis, and provide blood at the beginning and end of working period (can be conducted on-site or at Teche Occupational Health Center prior to working with animals)

Salary/funding:
Salary Range: ~ $16.00 - $21.00, contingent upon experience and education. Promotion and salary adjustment based on merit and production
