Volunteer at a Wildlife Sanctuary w/5 species of primates, sloths, & more!

Hiring Organization:
Kids Saving the Rainforest

Date Posted:

Position Description:
Come to Costa Rica and volunteer at Kids Saving the Rainforest! Originally founded by two 9-year old girls in 1999, our organization has now grown up to include a wildlife sanctuary, rescue and rehabilitation center located in beautiful Quepos, Costa Rica. We rescue nearly 200 animals every year. People from all over the world from all walks of life join us from a couple of days up to one month of time to join us in the important work we are doing here.

You will be helping out in our Wildlife Sanctuary, home to nearly 50 animals including 5 species of monkeys, sloths, parrots, coatimundi, and more. Typical daily duties include food preparation and distributing food and water to the animals who reside in the sanctuary, cleaning enclosures, providing enrichment to improve the quality of life of the animals in our care, and foraging for wild foods. You may participate in special projects going on here at Kids Saving the Rainforest, and for volunteers staying for one month we ask that you take on a special project of your own. If you have a specialized background or experience, let us know and we may be able to find other ways for you to help out!

Anyone over the age of 18 in healthy condition can come and volunteer with us. While we welcome individuals with a background in wildlife, we also welcome young people just exploring their paths in life, lawyers, mother, chefs, wanderers, animal lovers, and anyone with a respect for wildlife and desire to come and help us with our important work in Costa Rica.

Rates vary depending on length of stay and choice of accomodation. Inquire at
