Wild Sun is a non-profit organization in Cabuya, Costa Rica. We are not only dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of our local wildlife but also to reintroduction of locally extinct species as well as other conservation projects that have a positive impact on conservation and preserving biodiversity.

For the benefit of the animals in our care, consistency with their handlers is key. That's why we will only train long term volunteers to interact with animals.

The minimum stay is two weeks, usually working 4-8 hours a day, as needs dictate. Volunteering 6 days a week.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Feeding animals
Enclosure maintenance
Building and dressing enclosures
Social media and graphic design work
Sign painting
Educational programs at the center and in local schools

No experience is necessary. We will train you upon arrival.

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Meals and lodging are provided at the Wild Sun Jungle Resort. Rates are variable depending on length of stay.

Short Term Volunteer (2 weeks): $420/wk including room and board
Long Term Volunteer (4-10 wks): $210/wk including room and board
Full Term Volunteer (12 wks): Lodging is free and you may use our kitchen for your own food or you can tack on a meal plan for $150/wk.

Wild Sun is a beautiful, ocean view property with a yoga deck, infinity pool, on site rescue center and various common areas among 5 acres of land next to the Cabo Blanco National Park. We have a private chef who will prepare all meals except for lunch and dinner on Saturdays. Most dietary needs can be accommodated.
