Mantled Howler Monkey Rehabilitation Internship

Position Description:
A primary threat to mantled howler monkeys is the
illegal pet trade throughout Panama. At Howler Monkey Hideaway,
confiscated howlers are given a second chance through rehabilitation,
reintroduction, and release. HMH is nestled outside of David, Panama
and provides the mantled howler monkeys with access to their native
habitat. Interns will aid in daily animal care, rehabilitation walks,
research on wild howler monkey troops, and surveys regarding the
biodiversity of the area.

Qualifications/Experience:
Due to the nature of this line of work,
adequate physical fitness is required. Interns must be driven with a
good work ethic and willingness to learn. This is a group environment
with independent work, so interns need to be able to work as a team as
well as individually. Interns with coursework or a BA/BSc in the
biological or environmental sciences are preferred.

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Meals and lodging provided for $150/week with a minimum of 4 weeks.

1-3 months
