Covance is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Pathology team in Madison, WI. You should have prior histology and necropsy experience and may be eligible for a sign on bonus.*

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs necropsy and/or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines
• Cross-trained in both necropsy and histology
• Performs in one specialty area (e.g. neurotoxicity, PCR collection, electron microscopy and OCT tissue preparation procedures, perfusion of small and large animals, special stains, plastic embedding, training, histopathology data/report review, Six Sigma Green Belt, or other specialty duties)
• Trim wet tissues
• Embed tissues into paraffin

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, or Associate Degree in Histology, Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus one to two years experience; Experience may substitute for education

Certification as a Histology Technician by ASCP or an AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level is desirable

Experience:
At least twelve months experience at the level equivalent to that of a Pathology Study Technician III
