Chimpanzee Release project volunteer

Position Description:
The CCC is looking for a 6 months volunteer for its release site. This year the CCC will reinforce its first release group with a few selected individuals, a first in chimpanzee conservation. The volunteers will include tracking and monitoring released chimps, participate in the introduction of the new chimpanzees, gather camera trap project information and image, help with the park protection activities and participate in the daily activities of the project .

Qualifications/Experience:
Motivated, able to work well in a team setting but also independently and in an isolated environment, willing to follow the managers instructions, must have a real desire to engage and advance the project.

Experience in West Africa desirable

Conversational French a plus

Experience with primates, especially chimpanzees, desirable

Experience in wild chimpanzees tracking (habituation projects for example)

Salary/funding:
None

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Room and board is provided by the CCC. The volunteer is responsible for airfare and other travel costs (e.g. health and travel insurance, spending money)

Term of Appointment:
6 months
