Chimpanzee sanctuary and release project volunteer

Position Description:
Supervising young orphaned chimps in the bush, tracking and monitoring released chimps, helping out with the daily activities of the sanctuary, picking up food in town and local villages.

Qualifications/Experience:
Motivated, able to work well in a team setting but also independently and in an isolated environment, willing to follow the managersí instructions, must have a real desire to engage and advance the project.

Experience in Africa desirable

MUST speak advanced level of French

Experience with primates desirable but not necessary

Salary/funding:
None

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Room and board is provided by the CCC, but the volunteer is responsible for airfare and other travel costs (e.g. health and travel insurance, spending money)

Term of Appointment:
6 months minimum
