Chimpanzee sanctuary and release project volunteers

Position Description:
Becoming a surrogate mom for baby orphan chimpanzees, supervising young orphaned chimps on bush walks, tracking and monitoring released chimps, helping out with the daily activities of the sanctuary and participate in the food drive in town and local villages.

Qualifications/Experience:
Motivated, able to work well in a team setting but also independently and in an isolated environment, willing to follow the managers instructions, must have a real desire to engage and advance the project.

Experience in Africa desirable

Some level of French preferable

Experience with primates desirable but not necessary

Salary/funding:
None

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Room and board is provided by the CCC for a $50 fee per month. The volunteer is responsible for airfare and other travel costs (e.g. health and travel insurance, spending money)

Term of Appointment:
6 months
