Primate Enrichment Manager

Position Description:
Provides supervisory leadership for Enrichment Technicians and reports on performance, problems, and progress to the head of behavioral management. Oversees the implementation of the social housing program for non-human primates under the guidance of the head of behavioral management. Oversees the administration and continued development of the enrichment program pertaining to enhancements to the physical environment. Coordinates positive reinforcement training activities. Supervises the monitoring of nonhuman primate behavior and the implementation of treatment plans for behavioral problems. Supervises personnel training programs. Collects behavioral and physiological data and compiles it for analysis. Compiles and maintains accurate documentation of program implementation and compliance with all relevant regulations and SOPs.

The demonstrated ability to work with nonhuman primates. Four years experience in implementing or planning environmental enrichment techniques preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including excellent time management and organizational skills. Familiarity with Animal Welfare legislation and policies required. Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of standard office software. Ability to perform data management and analysis, and to develop training material. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
