Position Description:
Major Responsibilities
Manage, coordinate, consult and work closely with colony supervisors regarding multiple colony programs. Assist clients/sponsors, division heads, veterinarians and coordinators on multiple colony programs. Manage colony supervisors to assure all contractual obligations for multiple colony programs are met. Review of animal serology for recommendations, additional confirmatory testing and/or separation/removal. Manage colony supervisors to ensure animal husbandry, sanitation, cage change outs, enhanced sanitation for potential pathogenic outbreak preventing cross contamination are accomplished to minimize further outbreaks in area. Update and maintain electronic animal inventory for multiple colony programs. Coordinate and ensure optimal space allocation based on species, size, age, number of animals, programs, etc. regarding multiple colony programs. Coordinate with colony supervisors to assure facility GLP and /or SOP and training compliance for multiple colony programs.

Qualifications/Experience:
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) degree with scientific emphasis. Individual must have at least 2 years of experience managing an animal colony. The degree and experience requirements may be substituted with 10 years directly applicable experience. Individual must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all staff members, clients and visitors to the Center
