Emory University- Yerkes National Primate Center- Field Station
Yerkes NPRC has a position opening for a colony manager. The selected individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the nonhuman primate breeding colony. Duties include monitoring production, morbidity and mortality, animal census, and developing statistical metrics for animal colonies in support of colony management and research. Will supervise colony management technicians and provide leadership in a team-oriented environment.
Minimum qualifications: A bachelorís degree and four years of related work experience. Must have understanding of the principles of animal breeding, genetics, and animal behavior of one or more relevant species. Prefer Masterís degree, PhD, or DVM plus 3 years experience in biomedical research and social behavioral management in non-human primates, statistical methods, databases and spreadsheets.
