Position Description:
Wildlife Research and Release Unit (WRRU) is a non-profit unit created to promote appreciation of South Africa's indigenous species and is dedicated to preserve and protect the wildlife and its natural environment. We are working in following areas: education, primate reintroductions and research, as well as veterinary support for local communities.
The need of education about indigenous wildlife, environment and its conservation, as well as sustainable living is growing in the surrounding communities and therefore we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated education manager to join our team. Through education we aim to inspire, motivate and educate local, lower socioeconomic school children; teach them about wild animals and their value to the ecosystem; how negative and positive human actions affect wildlife and how preservation of the various species has a positive impact on the sustainability of the environment and on local people and their families.
You will be expected to do:
- design, develop and implement educational programs for local primary school children
- creating educational materials
- look for grants for the implementation of educational projects and write grant proposals
- write donation requests for companies/private donors
Qualifications/Experience:
We prefer candidates with teaching experience, especially in undeveloped countries. You should be self motivated and be ready to accept our limitations. Good English (speaking and writing) skills are essential.

Once the funding for the first educational program is secured we will welcome you to come to South Africa and join us in a field, where free housing (meals excluded) will be provided.
