Manager/Director of a primate rehabilitation centre needed

Position Description:
Wilmar Animal Sanctuary is a young rehabilitation centre based near Middelburg in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Director Margaret van Loggenberg who erected the centre just over a year ago, to save the large amounts of orphaned baboons and vervet monkeys in her area, unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago.

The sanctuary needs someone to manage it and make it financially viable so that the primates there can continue to be rehabilitated for release back into the wild.

Establishing a volunteer program, fundraising for food, medication and other necessities and rehabilitating the baboons and monkeys there are some of the jobs that need to be done.

The sanctuary may need to be sold to someone who is able to fulfill all the roles needed to ensure these primates a safe future.

Qualifications/Experience:
A passion for primates and experience in rehabilitation and primate behaviour.

Salary/funding:
The applicant would need to establish a volunteer program and do fundraising in order to make this project financially viable for the primates as well as the applicant.

Term of Appointment:
Long term

Any ideas on how to save this important primate project would be much appreciated. At present the futures of the baboons and monkeys there are at risk.
