I am graduating this June and am looking for a full time research position for next year. I am an Anthropology major and Biology minor. I am willing to go anywhere in the U.S. and potentially outside of the U.S.

Research Assistant – 10 hours/ week, September 2009 – Present
• Watched and interpreted video recordings of juvenile baboons at the San Diego Zoo for a psychiatric study on the effects of prenatal nutrition on development
• Responsible for coding concentration, persistence, and emotional arousal of baboon test subjects completing tasks

LINCOLN PARK ZOO, Chicago, IL
Chimpanzee Research Intern – 15 hours/ week, September 2009 – Present
• Converted data on chimpanzee mother-infant interactions at Gombe National Park to electronic format
• Worked with a team of interns and project leaders to create a electronic database to hold all data on chimpanzee behavior collected from 2001 – present

KOOBI FORA FIELD SCHOOL, Lake Turkana Basin, Kenya
Field Researcher – 50 hours/week, Summer 2009

• Participated as a member of an excavation team that uncovered four hominin footprints and a fossilized hominin arm dating to 1.5 ma
• Worked with a team of primatologists to survey Pleistocene deposits for evidence of pounding tools, collected potential hammerstones and anvils for further study, and recorded and mapped finds with a GPS system
• Conducted an ethnographic study on a local tribe through interviews, mapping the layout of settlements, and excavating Holocene deposits to obtain information about the history of trading and movement patterns

LIMPOPO ECO OPERATIONS, Gravelotte, South Africa

Animal Behavior Researcher – 40 hours/week, September 2007
• Conducted research on a pride of lions on Selati Game Reserve using telemetry to track collared individuals
• Gathered and recorded data on behavior, eating habits, movement of lion pride as well as the behavior and number of prey species in order to assess the ecological impact of the pride on the reserve


VERVET MONKEY FOUNDATION, Tzaneen, South Africa

Rehabilitator – 40 hours/week, September 2007
• Assisted in the rehabilitation of orphaned and injured vervet monkeys by replacing bandages and bottle feeding
• Constructed, with a team of co-volunteers, an introduction enclosure for rehabilitated vervets that serves as a transition to re-introduce them to protected forest reserves
