Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Company Director, the Attending Veterinarian will provide oversight and leadership for veterinary and research personnel. The Attending Veterinarian will also participate in client services and communications, review and draft standard veterinary operating procedures, and review grant and contract applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The GOAL of the Company is to be extremely profitable. In achieving the GOAL the Company and its employees will continue to grow and to prosper. In the position of Attending Veterinarian your role in achieving the GOAL will be to facilitate throughput, minimize constraints, and control cost by:
• Serve as Chairman for AGI’s International Animal Care and Usage Committee (IACUC).
• Manage all AGI Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Serve as official for AGI ethics and standards of conduct
• Oversee nonhuman primate enrichment program
• Back-up and fill-in veterinary duties for clinical veterinarians.
• Ensure Company compliance of Federal regulations of operations.
• Oversee AGI quarantine facility and ensure compliance
• Oversee facility inspection for Yemassee and Hampton Primate Facilities.
• Ensure facility preparations for site visits
• Oversee AGI OSHA program and serves as Health and Safety Director
• Ensure Quality Assurance and movement towards FDA Good Laboratory Practice standards
• Provide assistance for AGI study program
• Conduct writing of AGI protocol
• Oversee USDA site visits
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:
A DVM VMD degree from an accredited institution, with current licensure in at least one state, and 5 to 7 years of laboratory primate experience are required. Post-doc or veterinary research experience and ACLAM eligibility/certification are preferred. Computer skills (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook) are important.

Salary/funding:
Salary commensurate with experience.
