Position Description:
The Department of Neurobiology at Stanford University seeks a Life Science Research Assistant (LSRA). The primary responsibility of the LSRA will be to assist with behavioral and neurophysiological studies in non-human primates. Duties and responsibilities of the LSRA will include: conducting experiments and analyzing results; performing animal handling and care of non-human primates; surgical assistance; lab management and equipment and supply orders; and designing and implementing procedures to ensure that compliance with all regulations are maintained.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology or related discipline. Previous laboratory experience and experience working with non-human primates strongly preferred. Candidate should display good judgment and planning skills. Must be adept at working with animals, computers and people. Must be detail-oriented, have good organizational skills, be able to work independently and keep accurate records for the laboratory.
Salary/funding:
approximately $40,000, depending on experience
