Position Description:
Provide project management and technical research services supporting research protocols, working in partnership with research staff members in the conduct of biomedical research in infectious diseases with primarily non-rodents in a ABSL3/4 facility.
Qualifications/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience in technical support (e.g. animal handling and restraint, anesthesia monitoring, collect blood and other tissue samples, perform injections – IP, IM, IV, SQ, maintenance of infusion and telemetry systems, euthanasia, necropsy, surgical preparation, pre-, peri-, and post-operative observations, and assist with research procedures as directed). They will have the ability to work independently including some weekends and holidays,establish daily work schedules for animal technicians assigned to the project. Provide oversight and training to the staff and ensure subordinate employees perform work in accordance with the Statement of Work and standard operating procedures and write and review SOPs regarding technical procedures.
Ideal candidate should have strong technical NHP experience.
Bachelor of Science degree or LATG highly preferred but not required.
