Position Description:
The Mannheimer Foundation, Inc. is a large non-human primate breeding and research facility located in Homestead and Clewiston Florida. We are currently seeking an experienced veterinary technician to provide medical care to a variety of nonhuman primates including rhesus macaques, cynomolgus macaques, hamadryas baboons, and squirrel monkeys. The veterinary technician works under the direction of a staff of qualified veterinarians and duties will vary but may include care for sick or injured primates, minor emergency treatment such as suturing wounds, assistance in completion of physical examinations and venipuncture, assistance with surgery and maintaining the medical records of the animals.
Qualifications/Experience:
Qualified applicants should have 3 to 5 years veterinary technician experience. Preference will be made for applicants with AALAS certification and college coursework or degree.
Salary/funding:
Salary dependent on education, certification and experience. Excellent benefits, including fully paid health insurance.
