Field work- behavioural ecology/ conservation

Position Description:
I am interested in gaining some research experience working in the field in Asia. I have a passion for research, and am interested in animal behaviour and conservation.
Educational Background:
In 2008 I completed an Honours Degree in biology as part of my Bachelor of Science. Prior to this I completed a Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science, majoring in English and Zoology.
Qualifications/Experience:
My field work experience includes: surveying and observing the behaviour of native and exotic pigeons in urban Melbourne; studying tropical forest ecology in Peninsular Malaysia; studying benthic microalgae on the Great Barrier Reef; assisting with a behavioural study of koalas.
I also have a good understanding of MS Excel and Word, and have experience using various statistical packages (R, Primer, Systat).

Having lived in Vietnam and traveled around Thailand and Malaysia, I am familiar with Asian cultures and comfortable living in basic conditions. I am fluent in English, but willing to learn the local language.
