Position Description:
Research PhD concentrating on primate behaviour and/or conservation.
Educational Background:
B.Sc. majoring in conservation and ecology (Lincoln University-New Zealand)
Masters of International Nature Conservation (M.I.N.C.) majoring in primatology (jointly awarded between Lincoln University and Georg-August University-Germany).
Qualifications/Experience:
It is very difficult to study primatology in New Zealand which has no history of primate research. I managed to study captive Cebus apella behaviour under varying enrichment regimes for my masters thesis and volunteered in a zoo to gain some valuable primate experience.
Currently I am working for Lincoln University on the relationship between possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) activity levels and nocturnal illumination.
