Position Description:
The Howard Hughes Medical Institute has an opening for a Research Technician at its Stanford facility.

The research technician position supports the daily operations of a neurophysiology lab. Duties include daily monitoring of animal health, maintenance of health records, performing or assisting in routine veterinary procedures, surgery preparation and assistance, monitoring animals during post-operative recovery, administering routine medications and treatments, assisting with program for psychological enrichment of non-human primates, assisting research staff in training animals for various behavioral tasks, assisting in ensuring the laboratory meets all federal, state, and local regulations, ordering supplies, and performing various other duties as necessary for the functioning of the laboratory.

Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prefer someone who is experienced and comfortable in assisting in surgeries and other minor procedures. Laboratory experience and/or experience handling non-human primates. Must be responsible and possess good interpersonal skills.
