Position Description:
Phd Research which investigates reproductive technologies in wild Great Apes.
Particular interest is with Bornean orangutans.
I am quite flexible with research topic but very interested in the field of reproduction.
Educational Background:
Bachelor of Science Animal studies majoring in Wildlife Biology at the University of Queensland Australia
Awarded Dean acknowledgment for outstanding academic achievement in Animal Reproduction during undergraduate degree
First Class Honours - Reproductive assessment of a captive population of short beaked echidnas
3 published scientific papers including:
Animal Reproduction Science - Assessment of Reproductive Status in Male Echidnas
Australian Veterinary Journal - Techniques for sexing echidnas
Australian Veterinary Journal - Technique for collecting plasma samples through venipuncture in echidnas
Qualifications/Experience:
Established initial stages of captive breeding program for Big Cats (Cheetah & Tiger)at Australia Zoo.
Produced a wildlife documentary on Bornean Orangutans in 2007.
Involvement with KOCP (Kingabatangan Orangutan Conservation Project) Bilit village, Sabah Borneo Malaysia.
Ambassador for AOP adoption program (Australian Orangutan Project)
