Postdoc Paleoprimatology (Neogene primates)

Position Description:
The ICP-Institut Català de Paleontologia is a research centre of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), devoted to the research in Vertebrate and Human Paleontology at the highest international level.

ICP is currently offering post-doctoral contracts to well-qualified candidates who wish to enhance their scientific training conducting research in several areas.

Subject:
Neogene primates, postcranial functional morphology and biomechanics.

Goal:
The Neogene fossil record of the Iberian Peninsula is exceptional and primates form an important part of their fossil faunas. Fossil hominoids and cercopithecoids are present in many sites ranging from the Middle Miocene until the upper Pliocene. The study of the postcranial adaptation of these taxa is the base of this contract, but exploration of other related subjects and geographical areas are appreciated.

Qualifications/Experience:
No restrictions of citizenship apply to the ICP post-doctoral contracts.

Ph. D- graduate biological/ geological sciences, with knowledge of primate paleontology. Experience in primate postcranial functional morphology will be also considered. Technical and methodological experience is appreciated.

ICP- post-doctoral fellows are selected on the basis of their academic records and their personal achievements. Proactivity, participation in community activities, and capacity for team-work are also taken into account.

Salary/funding:
The contracts are offered for periods of one year, renewable for a total of three years.
