Mission: The conservation and captive breeding of endangered and threatened callitrichidae, a rescue facility for unwanted callitrichidae, and a medical data collection facility to share and disseminate pertinent medical information related to the care and treatment of marmosets and tamarins. Principal Research Programs: SSP - callimico marmoset; Studbooks: Cotton-top tamarin, Pygmy marmosets; Foster care of marmosets, encouraging older siblings to help raise new siblings to give older siblings some parenting skills. Number of Staff: 4 Supported Species: Aotus trivirgatus (owl monkey), Callimico goeldii (Goeldi's marmoset), Callithrix geoffroyi (white-headed marmoset), Callithrix jacchus (common marmoset), Callithrix kuhlii (Wied's marmoset), Callithrix penicillata (black-pencilled marmoset), Callithrix pygmaea (pygmy marmoset), Eulemur albifrons (white-fronted lemur), Eulemur fulvus (brown lemur), Saguinus geoffroyi (rufous-naped tamarin), Saguinus midas (midas tamarin), Saguinus oedipus (cotton-top tamarin) Comments: We are a private, self-funded facility.
