Mission: * Promoting the welfare, conservation and survival of primates. * Working to end the primate trade and the abuse of primates in captivity. * Conserving natural habitats through education and sustainable living. * Operating a sanctuary to care for victims of the UK primate pet trade

Principal Research Programs: * To create and maintain primate sanctuaries with excellent welfare for primates. * To continually develop and improve our understanding, and the welfare, of captive primates * To rescue/rehome rehabilitate and socialise ex pet primates from, primarily the UK trade. * To maintain and develop our relationships with rescue centres and conservation projects overseas to protect primates in their natural habitat.

Training Opportunities: We deliver far reaching education programmes to engage all sectors of the community on primates, conservation and environmental issues. * Pre-booked curricular linked workshops for schools, collegues and universities. * visiting general public * Work experience and volunteering opportunities * Research project opportunities

Associated Field Sites: The Monkey Sanctuary Trust is associated with and has provided financial assistance to the following field conservation projects; * ENTROPIKA UK Ltd; Angela Maldonaldo and Liz Tyson, Amacayacu National Park and Colombian Amazon basin, Leticia, Colombia. Entropika is working closely with local indigenous people to implement sustainable conservation programmes through research, education, cooperation and commitment. Entropika is the umbrella organisations for several conservation projects in the area, including The Woolly Monkey Project. * NEOTROPICAL PRIMATE CONSERVATION; Sam & Noga Shanee, La Esperanza, Tropical Andes, Peru. Neotropical Primate Conservation is implementing a pioneering conservation programme for the critically endangered yellow tailed woolly monkey (Oreonax flauvicauda) in Peru.

Supported Species: 1 Cebus olivaceus (wedge-capped capuchin), 8 Cebus apella (tufted capuchin), 2 Erythrocebus patas (patas monkey), 7 Lagothrix lagotricha (Humboldt's woolly monkey), 3 Macaca sylvanus (Barbary macaque)
