Mission: The Biological Anthropology Ph.D. program at the University of Southern California is run from the Ph.D. program in Integrative and Evolutionary Biology. This program has a focus on human origins, primate behavior, and the evolution of the human lifespan. We especially seek outstanding applicants whose interests include primate behavior and ecology.

Principal Research Programs: Faculty and their specialties: Craig Stanford (African apes behavioral ecology); Roberto Delgado (orangutan behavioral ecology and conservation biology).

Financial Aid: A limited number of fellowships and top-offs are awarded to incoming PhD students. These fellowships will be awarded competitively based on the applicantâs credentials (GREs, GPA, etc.). Applicants who are admitted but not offered fellowships are funded through teaching assistantships.
