Mission: The mission of the Department of Veterinary Sciences (DVS) at the Michale E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research (KCCMR) is to eliminate cancer and allied diseases in Texas, the nation, and the world. The department has and will continue to create, maintain, and use specialized animal model research resources; design and carry out research programs that increase understanding of human diseases; facilitate the translation of experimental therapies from the research laboratory to the patient’s bedside, and provide educational opportunities to aspiring scientists and veterinarians seeking careers in biomedical science.
