Mission: Research and training in primate biology, evolution and conservation. Breeding colonies of Microcebus ssp. and Tupaia belangeri Clientele: Research and zoos Principal Research Programs: Speaker of the DFG-funded interdisciplinary research programme on acoustic communication of emotions in nonhuman mammals and man (members are affiliated to the Department of Zoology, TiHo Hannover; the University for Music and Drama Hannover; the Hannover Medical School; the Department of Neurobiology at Ulm, the Department of Neurology at the University of Tuebingen and the Max Planck Institute for Brain and Cognitive Research at Leipzig). Member of the programme on the biodiversity and evolution of Malagasy lemurs and its protection together with the University of Antananarivo and the University of Mahajanga, Madagascar and ANGAP, Madagascar Training Opportunities: Educational opportunities available for: Undergraduate, Graduate, Postgraduate students; Training for laboratory technicians; Financial support occasionally available, but mostly self-funding.
