Mission: Save the Chimp's mission is to create a sanctuary for the permanent, lifetime care for chimpanzees retired from research laboratories or who have been abandoned by "owners" no longer able to provide adequate care. The Sanctuary will provide chimpanzees with a secure and enriching environment, spacious outdoor enclosures and the opportunity to express natural behaviors, all to integrate health to the highest degree possible for these sensitive and complex primates.

Training Opportunities: The Sanctuary will also serve as an educational center by providing non-invasive, behavioral research opportunities for students of zoology, psychology, anthropology, and other related fields. Through closely monitored educational programs, the sanctuary will educate the public about the behavior, culture, and life cycle of chimpanzees.

Species Supported: Chimpanzees (288)
